Our Public Works Department has the mission of maintaining all Borough properties, parks, streets, equipment, vehicles and buildings. The Department is headquartered on G.W. Stoudt Boulevard at the western edge of the Borough adjacent to the Essroc Soccer Fields and the Borough’s Yard Waste Recycling Center. Public Works Superintendent Keith Knecht and his crew of seven employees count among their duties snow removal, tree trimming, repairing and resurfacing the Borough's streets, leaf collection each Fall, Pool maintenance, landscaping and grass cutting and plumbing, heating and electrical services. Lafayette Bank Office building at 134 South Main Street, into the current Borough's Municipal Offices and Police Station, were accomplished through the efforts and building expertise of our Public Works Department. That same expertise kept our 1937 Park Pool viable and operating nearly thirty years beyond its predicted life while other venues, like our Dog Park and Skate Park, grew around it.
The Department inspects and resurfaces the Borough's streets on a rotating schedule and answers calls to fill and patch potholes when necessary.
Our Borough is proud of the way it maintains and upgrades all of its buildings, parks and streets and with good reason. Nazareth's Public Works Department understands its mission and effectively performs it.
